Dragonica Online

What is Dragonica? - Look at this way, close your eyes and imagine a world where fairytale and dragons exist. It is where a hero would be fighting on the forces of evil and slaying thousand of monsters just to save the world. This is the world of Dragonica Online. A free-to-play 3D side-scrolling MMORPG develope by Barunson Interactive. Featuring four basic classes (Warrior, Magician, Archer, and Thief) which further specialize into advance classes as you progress in the game. The game has been in CBT(Closed Beta Test) since April 2010 here in the Philippines and I am still waiting for the OBT(Open Beta Test) to be release this month.

Dragonica World

Game Controls
This game primarily uses the keyboard so you may have difficulty at first. Players control a character in a three-dimensional plane but the scope of movement is mainly focused on the horizontal axis with limited vertical movement, much like the arcade style side-scrolling classics. If had played Mario Bros in the Nintendo game, this game is somewhat the same in game-play where in there are certain levels to fight for bosses. Features for this game includes cute characters to choose from, cool battle effects, fight scenes, and colorful 3D graphics. Players can also perform ground and aerial combos by utilizing certain skills in order to render enemies unable to retaliate but can also play the role of a healer or supporter when necessary. At the end of every mission sequence is a scenario that advances your character to the next stage of the game. Most of the time, you will find your hand on the keyboard when engaging in combats and battles.

Characters

At the beginning of the game you can choose from one of the four basic characters. You can accumulate levels in order to advance into deeper specialties with more powerful abilities and skills to choose from. Basic Classes include the warrior, magician, archer and thief.

Character Creation

The ARCHER class carries bows, crossbows, and even gatling guns to fight monsters from a distance having the advantage of being a long range attacker. Their combos are great from which they put their enemies in mid-air and launches their infinite arrow shots. They also dealth critical damages which sometimes KO the enemies in one single shot. Although their attack power is weaker than that of a warrior's, their attack speed and movement speed is among the fastest in the game. Archers can advance to become either a hunter or a ranger.

The WARRIOR is a melee class wielding a sword and a shield. Warriors are mostly seen in the front lines from a party and act as the "tank" to keep the enemies from reaching the mid-lines where archers and magicians are positioned. They have massive combos that can stun a wide area against the enemies; against bosses the warrior will often bear the brunt of the attacks due to the lack of ranged attacks. They are also great in PVP's and when you are caught within their stun combos, then your doomed. The warrior class can advance to become either a gladiator or knight.

The MAGICIAN is the caster class. They uses staff and shield as their weapon. They can heal and buff the group or deal massive amounts of AOE (area of effect) damage to the enemies. They are rarely seen in the front lines as they have low defenses and health. In PVP or party's, magicians are always in demand as they do massive attacks and a good support for other classes specially in fighting bosses. They are one of the most valuable assets as they are able to elimate mobs of the bosses. They also heal the wounds of damaged allies and offer support from a distance, without being hit by the monsters. Magicians can advance to become either an monk or a battlemage.

The THIEF class can deal incredible damages, swift attacks and combos to annihilate group of enemies. Most likely, i like their armor sets as they look more cooler than the other classes. They wield with deadly claws and are often seen on the front lines alongside the warriors dealing great damages and debuffing on the enemies. In early games, they are mostly kicked out in party's as they lack with AOE skills but then at higher levels, they can do solo against bosses. They are specialize in sneaking tearing down the enemy lines as quickly as possible and uses their hiding skills for engaging giving them the advantage to do surprise attacks. The thief class can advance to become either a jester or assassin.

Basic Characters

Missions and Quest

Taking on missions are often composed of four mission modes (which gadually increase its difficulty) and a fifth mission (w/c will be unlocked when four mission modes have been completed). Each step in the mission also features a grading system that attempts to rank players based on how a player performed during that quest. The grading system allows the player to obtain higher quality and quantity of looted items based on that individual's performance and group contribution. Your reward to this loots can either be armor parts, upgrade crystals and golds. Sometime you can also pickup special items by using coins to obtain them. Base from my experience the best way to get this special items is when your character rank above "S" class from a missions. Players will often be sent into these missions to complete important quests. Although many of these missions can be done by oneself, it is recommended to join in groups to be able to beat this quest levels as it conserved time for you which then benefit your character for easy leveling. Players in groups gain bonus experience and with the right group composition, will find it much easier to progress through the game.

Wolf Boss Battle

Summary

This game is launched on the Philippines last August 2010 and I have been playing this game for about a month and a half now. This game does not offer a full 3D environment and a quality battle effects so if you are looking for it, then this game does not suit you. Its graphics is good and not quite bad including battle effects. Background music in not that bad. Quest are easy when on parties but are sometimes hard specially when taking in solo missions. If your a PVP addict, you might want to try this as this game is difficult to control and very challenging at first but when you are already at it, then pvp will be a piece of cake. You will most likely utilizing all your fingers on the keyboard all the time specially when performing combo attacks. What I most likely in this game is its aerial battles which some MMORPG game does not offer. Over all this game is 7/10 and im still waiting for the OBT to be release. If you have some time, try to play this game for you to be able to experience what i am saying. =)
